Five-S: Cleaning Up the FSAB

Five-S is an approach to workplace organization that focuses on creating flow, improving communication and reducing waste through the placement and movement of materials, information, machines and people. Facilities Services embarked on a Five-S clean up of the Facilities Services Administration Building (FSAB) February 18–19, 2010 following Five-S LEAN principles:

  1. Sort Out
  2. Scrub Workplace
  3. Select Locations (Straighten)
  4. Set Locations (Standardize)
  5. Sustain
