Filming on Campus

Welcome to the University of Washington. Our campuses present a wide variety of location possibilities for film, video and photography. This is primarily a public education and research institution, and as such, our primary responsibility is to the learning environment of our students. However, we welcome your inquiries about filming projects.

Prior approval from the UW Media Relations and Communications office is required to conduct commercial filming or photography on the UW campuses in Seattle, Bothell and Tacoma. Please contact Electronic Communications at 206-685-2647 for more information.

Commercial and documentary filming (including videotaping and still photography) is subject to location agreements and fees. See the standard location agreement and fee schedule >

Certain scripts that contain references to the University of Washington may require approval by the UW Trademarks and Licensing office whether or not they are filmed at a UW location. Please contact UW Trademarks and Licensing at 206-685-8600 for questions about script review and approval.
