Thank you to all participants, speakers and presenters for making Symposium 2005, the first gathering of emergency professionals serving colleges and universities, a wonderful success! Your interest and enthusiasm for collaborating and networking with your peers for the purpose of sharing best practices in risk reduction was overwhelming and inspiring. We hope the information sharing between colleges and universities continues with the contacts you made, and look forward to the Symposium becoming an annual event.

Weather
Seattle's weather in January is unpredictable. The average temperature in late January ranges from 36-48 degrees, but has also been as low as 16 and as high as 60 degrees. You can almost count on overcast days and possibly even rain. But then again, it could be clear and sunny, and you'll agree, the bluest skies you'll ever see are in Seattle!
Before you leave home, check the weather forecast:

Attire
Please dress comfortably in business casual attire for Symposium 2005. Considering our weather fluctuations, we recommend dressing in layers. A sweater to keep you warm and a raincoat or parka to keep dry will probably suffice. Good walking shoes that will keep your feet dry as you walk across campus are also recommended. Bring an umbrella just in case it rains.
Note: While it rarely dips below freezing in the winter, the chill is often ÒdampÓ due to the rain and may feel colder than the temperature indicates.
