Thomas Brady Biography
As the Campus Seismic Resilience Project Assistant, Thomas Brady assists the UW Emergency Management Director and the Seismic Resilient UW Work Group. In this position, he is tasked with refining the scope, design and gap analysis of the project, and drafting and revising reports that establish best practices for planning and responding to a seismic event.
Thomas is an undergraduate student at the University of Washington pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Chinese. Concurrent in his position at UWEM, he serves as the student representative to the Emergency Management Planning Committee (EMPC) for the Association Students of the University of Washington (ASUW). In addition, Thomas is a second-side rookie on the UW Rugby Football Club team.
His career began in public service as a staffer on the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee and the staff of Senator Sam Brownback (Kansas). Just prior to coming to the University of Washington, Thomas ended an 8-year stint in Army special operations serving in the Middle East and Asia. After completing his education, Thomas wishes to continue his career in emergency/risk management focusing on political and security risks.
