Corpus Corvus (Work In Progress) | ||||||
Corpus Corvus is a mixed reality performance that utilizes an integrated physical/media choreographic vocabulary, stereoscopic projection, motion capture, 3D animation, digital sound composition, and ambisonics. Corpus Corvus, the title of which refers to the body of the raven, is inspired by a synthesis of string theory, special relativity, Australian aboriginal dream painting, futurist performance, Native Pacific Northwest mythology, and immersive media technologies. Loosely based on the myth of the raven as creator/thief who steals the sun and creates the universe, the stereoscopic-ambisonic performance space consists of somatic architectures both extracted from and inhabited by the physical body. The cumulative instantiation of embodiment spans a dynamic spectrum from the animalic to the immaterial. |
Current work in progress. Projected premiere in 2010. |
