May 2nd, 2014
The first event Dream Project holds for its juniors is on the University of Washington campus on May 2nd this year, from 9:30am to 1:30pm. The Dream Project invites all of its junior Dream Scholars to visit the University of Washington Campus for the day and sit in on an actual college lecture, take a tour of the campus, and immerse themselves in a college environment. For a lot of our juniors, this is the first time they will have been on a college campus.
In the past, students have arrived with no idea of what a college campus looks like or how college lectures are different from their high school classes. This lack of knowledge is changed by the end of the day. All of the juniors in the Dream Project are welcome to come. The day will be broken up into three different rotating shifts so that the students get the tour of campus, are able to sit in on a lecture, and enjoy lunch with their classmates.

This spring, Dream Project is partnering with other organizations such as the South King County College Access Network, College Success Foundation (CSF), and Community Center for Education Results (CCER) to plan and organize the Road Map to College Campaign. In the spring, we will collectively host more than 10 What’s Next Events throughout King County, partnering with schools and districts.
