Dream Project raises over $80,000 at first annual “Dare to Dream” fundraiser

By UW Dream Project

The “Unleashed” a cappella group kicked off the evening with their rendition of “Africa.”

We’re excited to announce that the Dream Project raised $80,361 in support of the Dream Project at our first annual Dare to Dream fundraiser! And thanks to our generous event underwriters, every single dollar raised on Saturday will go straight to program costs. That will cover almost all of our program costs for next year. Host Sally Jewell (UW Regent and CEO of REI) led us through the journey of the Dream Project story that night in the HuskyFest Pavilion tent on Red Square.

In addition, at the end of the night we received a $100,000 challenge pledge from a friend of the Dream Project that will run for a full year. It’s a challenge to everyone to continue supporting the Dream Project…and a reminder that fundraising doesn’t end just because the big event is over. We’re excited for what the coming year will bring as we look ahead to the next chapter of the Dream Project story.
