DO-IT Ambassadors are pursuing postsecondary studies and careers. They share their experiences with DO-IT Scholars and Pals, encouraging them to pursue their goals in college and employment.

Hi. I am Yomara. Doing well in school has always been my number-one priority, and it has paid off. I am a junior at the University of Washington, Bothell. I have spinal muscular atrophy type 2, which is why I use a power chair to get around. I have a passion for chocolate and the color pink :).

Hi. My name is Mack. I am studying personal training at Highline Community College. I work at my local YMCA. Basketball, football, track, and baseball are my favorite sports. I have cerebral palsy.

Hi. I am Erica. I have Erb's palsy on my right arm. I am a junior at the University of Washington, majoring in biology. I am interested in pursuing a career in medicine, hopefully as a family doctor, to improve healthcare accessibility for families in farming communities like my own.

Hi. My name is Russell. I will attend Seattle University this fall. I plan to be involved with law enforcement or be a lawyer. I have Asperger's syndrome. I enjoy playing video games, racing dirt bikes, and driving my car. I was a DO-IT Intern at Summer Study 2012.

Hi. My name is Sam. I study architectural design and drafting at a community college. I enjoy long-distance running, playing the trumpet, building with Legos, and playing video and computer games such as Harvest Moon, Civilization 4: Colonization, Sims 3, and Minecraft. Even though I have dyslexia, which means I have trouble reading and writing, I am a huge fan of the Harry Potter and Sword of Truth books.

Hi. My name is Collin. I received my two year degree from Shoreline Community College, where I played soccer. This fall I plan to attend the Evergreen State College. I would like to go into politics after college. I have dyslexia.

Hi. I am Emily, and I just completed my third year at Bellevue College. I will be attending Cornish College for the Arts in the fall. In my spare time, I work for the National Ski Patrol and volunteer with the Humane Society. I have dyslexia and dysgraphia, which was diagnosed when I was in third grade.

Hi. My name is Derek and I am a college student. I have a non-verbal learning disability and dysgraphia. I am interested in political science. I recently went to Olympia and lobbied a bill for financial education in math classes, and I hope to continue to be involved in politics. During the summer, I am a youth camp counselor, which will help me prepare for a career as a band teacher. I enjoy refereeing soccer games, playing video games, having a good time with friends, and playing a variety of musical instruments. I also enjoy manga and anime.

Hey! My name is Nejowa. I have used a wheelchair for the past eight years. I was recruited to play basketball at the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater. My dream is to be a youth counselor. I am a Sounders fan, enjoy music, and, as everyone knows, am obsessed with Lady Gaga.

Hi. My name is Marco. I attend Highline Community College where I am pursuing an associate's of science degree. In August 2012, I earned an associate's of arts degree with an emphasis in chemistry. My goal is to study biochemistry at the University of Washington and eventually work at a local biotech or chemical engineering laboratory.

I am majoring in business information systems with an emphasis in management. I plan to incorporate my love of language and continue studying Spanish and Mandarin.

I hope to be a psychologist working with children or families. One of my favorite things to do each day is watch Dr. Phil. I was a DO-IT Intern at Summer Study 2011.

Hi. My name is Brianna. I attend Cascadia Community College. I hope to go to a four-year university after I finish community college. I would like to have a career working with children and adults with special needs. I can walk, but I sometimes use a wheelchair because I have cerebral palsy. I also have some visual and hearing impairments. I use Pidgin Signed English to communicate in large crowds or in a classroom. I love bowling and riding horseback. In my spare time, I like to read and knit. I was a DO-IT Intern at Summer Study 2011.
