Camp Challenge, Florida
Florida Easter Seals' Camp Challenge was founded in 1961 with a mission of helping children and adults with disabilities achieve maximum independence. Just 20 minutes north of Orlando in Lake county, Camp Challenge satisfies the need in every one of us for outdoor recreation, socializing with friends, and relaxing on a summer vacation.
Hundreds of children and adults, ages six through adulthood, have the opportunity to make their dreams come true in 63 wooded acres. Amenities at camp include: 11 air conditioned cottages; a nurses infirmary; a swimming pool; arts and crafts center; archery and riflery range; nature coral and petting zoo; outdoor pavilion; a half-mile paved nature trail; dining hall and recreation center; hands-on computer program; and much, much more.
For several years DO-IT offered Internet preview and college and career preparation programs for Camp Challenge campers. Explore camper links to experience some of the online activities supported by campers.
