AccessIT in San Diego

by Sheryl Burgstahler

AccessIT, co-sponsored by DO-IT and the UW Center for Technology and Disability Studies, hosted a training meeting for staff from the ten regional Disability Business and Technical Assistance Centers (DBTACs, see http://www.adata.org/dbtac.html).

The meeting included presentations and lively discussions related to the accessible information technology support DBTACs provide in their regions. Terry Thompson and I represented DO-IT aspects of this collaboration; we gathered ideas for our AccessIT Knowledge Base at http://www.washington.edu/accessit/kb.php—FAQs, Case Studies, and Promising Practices—and learned more about DBTAC needs for technical assistance.
