Adding a Nickname After Reading a Message

DESCRIPTION

When you first receive an electronic mail message from someone, if you expect to correspond with this person regularly, immediately set up a nickname in your address file by using the "Take Addr" command.

PROCEDURE

  1. While viewing the message sent to you by someone that you wish to create a nickname for, press "t" to execute the Take Addr command.

  2. When asked to enter a nickname, type in the name that you would like to use to identify this person in the future. Choose a name that will be easy for YOU to remember.

  3. Press <Return>. Pine presents the full name and electronic mail address of the person you have nicknamed. If this information is correct, press <CTRL> and "x" to eXit the address book. You can now use this nickname any time you want to send a message to this person.
