Lost and Found Messages in PINE

DESCRIPTION

Instead of searching through your mail index to find an old message, try the "whereis" command in PINE.

PROCEDURE

  1. Enter the index of mail messages in your inbox or other folder by typing "i".

  2. Press "w" to execute the whereis command.

  3. Type a sequence of letters that is included in the subject or sender field of the message you are looking for. For example, if you wish to locate an old message from Sheryl Burgstahler you might type "Sheryl". PINE will highlight the first message that has the sequence of letters you typed in. If it has not highlighted the message you were looking for, try "w" again.

  4. Once the correct message is highlighted, press <Return> to view it on the screen.
