Blind cc in PINE

DESCRIPTION

You can send a copy of a composed message to someone without their name appearing in the header that will go to the person the message is primarily directed to. This is called a "blind carbon copy," or Bcc, in PINE.

PROCEDURE

  1. From within PINE, type "c" to compose a message.

  2. Press <CTRL> and r simultaneously. This gives you a Rich Header which includes the "Bcc" option.

  3. Complete the "To", "Cc", "Bcc", and "Subject" entries, and compose your message as usual.

  4. Press <CTRL> and x simultaneously to send your message.

Note: Bcc is a useful option for copying messages to yourself. When using Bcc to copy messages to other individuals, always consider the ethical issues involved in not informing the primary recipient of the message that someone else has received a blind copy.
