The Civil War
DESCRIPTION
"The world will little note nor long remember what we say here, but it can
never forget what they did here." These are words spoken by Abraham Lincoln
in 1863 at Cemetery Hill. The words that he declared no one would long
remember are from what is now known as the Gettysburg Address.
Visit the Civil War site and learn not only about the battles but about the
people who fought the war that tore a nation apart. The Civil War site
allows you to read letters, diaries, government documents and listen to
music that was popular during the civil war. You can also watch the events
of the war unfold as you travel the timeline or read about the battles.
