Fewer students with disabilities complete high school than their nondisabled peers.
Many high school students with disabilities fail to graduate from high school. This is especially true for individuals who rate their disabilities as more severe. According to the 1998 Harris Survey of Americans with Disabilities, one in five students with disabilities does not complete high school compared with one in ten adults without disabilities.
