Learning disabilities are the most frequently reported disability.

Two in five (41%) college freshmen with disabilities reported a learning disability in a 1998 survey of college freshmen with disabilities. Forty-two percent of freshmen with learning disabilities were women and 16% were students of color. Just over half (52%) of these students were enrolled in 2-year universities while 46% were enrolled in 4-year universities. From 1991 to 1998, the number of students with learning disabilities enrolled in 4-year colleges increased from 40% to 46%. (HEATH Resource Center)
