Did You Know?

The largest gap between people with disabilities and people without disabilities in the United States is employment.

Three out of ten adults with disabilities (29%) work full or part time compared to eight out of ten individuals without disabilities (79%). Among those people with disabilities between the ages of 16 to 63 who are not employed, 72% say they would prefer to be working. In addition, two thirds of adults with disabilities say their disability has prevented them from getting the kind of job they would like and fewer than half of the adults with disabilities say their work requires them to use their talents or abilities to their full potential.
