Did You Know?

A tape recorder is a common accommodation.

Even with high-tech options available, a simple tape recorder often provides an effective accommodation for students with a range of disabilities. Students who have difficulty taking notes, writing, or spelling; students who need to attend to the lecture without being distracted by writing; and students who have visual impairments often benefit from taping lectures. Some students also use a tape recorder to compose homework assignments or answer questions on tests.
