Did You Know?

Students with disabilities are barometers of positive social and community attitudes?

In a 1998 U.S.survey of college freshmen, similar proportions of those with and without disabilities agreed on the importance of life objectives such as being successful, helping others, and obtaining recognition from colleagues. However, freshmen with disabilities placed a higher priority than their peers on social concerns such as promoting racial understanding and being involved in environmental clean-up efforts.
