What was the Accessibility Forum?
The Accessibility Forum was a group that worked on providing specific direction toward successful understanding and implementation of Section 508 standards. The Accessibility Forum:
- Created a diverse community of stakeholders -- unparalleled for the accessibility community;
- Assembled a substantial set of resources and expertise, including Resource Documents delivered September 2002 (Material of technology and accessibility information directly related to the Section 508 standard);
- Established place to network and share ideas; and
- Developed basis for producing tools to support procurement process (for both procurement and vendor communities).
The Accessibility Forum was sponsored by the General Services Administration (GSA) to address Section 508 technical assistance through long-term solutions developed by collaboration among the stakeholders.
