Award-winning composer Bill Conti scored the music for "Rise Up With Pride for Washington," the grand prize winner in the UW's "Song of Washington" lyrics contest. The Husky band will play the song publicly for the first time at the Nov. 8 Arizona State football game. For submitting the winning lyrics, Catherine Henderson received $1,000 and a lifetime Alumni Association membership. The runners-up each received $500. Judges were looking for lyrics that captured the spirit and tradition of the UW, were easy to remember and were easy to sing. A total of 382 entries were submitted. Thanks to everyone who participated!
