UW Libraries: A New Web Information Gateway

A major goal of the UW Libraries is to deliver information resources and services to the desktop. The World Wide Web is now the common interface for desktop access to a wide range of resources, including bibliographic databases and full-text electronic journals. Many new resources are available only through the Web, and development efforts for existing databases are based on Web access and delivery.

The UW Libraries' databases and online catalog are now in a transition phase from UWIN to the Web. During the 1998-99 academic year, as Web versions of bibliographic databases and the Libraries' catalog become available, those addresses will be announced on UWIN.

The new Web site is located at the Libraries' previous Web address: www.lib.washington.edu/
