The address for C&C's Computing and Networking Web site has changed to www.washington.edu/computing/ It's an easy address to remember whenever you are looking for information on computer-related topics at the UW.

Keep this resource at your fingertips by bookmarking it. If www.washington.edu/tech_home/ (the old URL) is in your bookmark file, please be sure to delete it.

The Computing and Networking Web site is furnished by C&C to help you get the most from computing resources at the UW, and to provide a central reference point for information on campus computing.

Watch this column in future issues of Windows on Computing for new or perhaps overlooked information you may seek, but do not know where to find.

Spotlight on Proper Use Tutorial and Quiz

Is it all right to use a UW computer to design and print a donation request letter for your non-profit group? Is there any harm in forwarding an email chain letter to 12 people in your Address Book so you won't have bad luck? If you are not sure, you can find the answers on a new Web-based tutorial.

You, your colleagues, and your students may learn more about rules and guidelines to follow when using UW computing and networking resources. Look under Getting Started > Knowing the Rules for a link to the "Tutorial on Proper Use." Try the sample scenarios on sharing accounts, email, copyright, and security, or go straight to the quiz.
