Configuring Mozilla Composer 1.x to Use the UW Kerberos FTP Proxy

Summary

This document describes how to configure Composer in Mozilla 1.x for Microsoft Windows to use the UW Kerberos FTP Proxy.

Configuring Mozilla Composer:

To configure Composer to transfer files using the secure UW Kerberos FTP Proxy:

  1. Make sure the UW Kerberos FTP Proxy is running on your computer.

  2. Start Mozilla Composer.

  3. Click the File menu and select Publish. The Publish dialog box will appear:

  4. On the Settings tab, enter the Publishing address for your site as ftp://localhost:2021/public_html/. Enter your base URL for the HTTP address of your homepage.

  5. Enter uwnetid+host.u.washington.edu for your User name, substituting uwnetid with your own UW NetID and host with Homer, Dante, or shell.myuw.net. Make sure you have a plus (+) sign between your UW NetID and hostname.

  6. Enter your password in the Password field.

  7. Click Publish to upload the file.

  8. You're done!
