Under the Uniform Access system (ie. Dante and Homer), students, faculty and staff of the University of Washington are provided with basic computing resources without charge. These basic resources include limited amounts of connect time, CPU time, disk storage, and magnetic tape storage. In other words, for many people at the University of Washington, there is no charge for computing as long as they work within the basic limits.
