Maximizing Quality
-
Take care in how you take your pictures
- Use a tripod, monopod, or anything that is nearby
and solid
-
Compose carefully so you shoot the picture that you want
- More pixels
- Choose the setting that captures the image into a
larger number of pixels
- Less compression
- Set the image quality to "Best" or "Least
Compression"
- Consider saving the image uncompressed, if the
option is available
- Minimal manipulation of the image
- Only do the minimum adjustments and use only the
most appropriate filters. The objective is to shoot the
very best picture possible so it does not need much
manipulation.
- Calibrate your monitor
- What you see on the monitor should match what comes
out of the printer.
- Use appropriate printer paper
- Glossy surfaces show sharpness, matte surfaces are
not so shiny, coarse surfaces can provide a nice
effect.
-
Use a recent printer
- New printers are both cheap and very good.
