Making Animated GIFs

Animated GIFs can be created by a variety of programs: see The Software Toolbox for references to a number of programs for the PC and the Macintosh which let you create animated GIFs.

Here we will show you how to create animated GIFs using two moderate cost programs: the Microsoft GIF Animator feature in Image Composer (a component of Microsoft FrontPage), and the Animation Shop 2 feature in PaintShop Pro. In all cases, an animated GIF is created as a single file which you invoke the same way as a static GIF:
