INSTALLING PC-PINE

If you obtained PC-Pine using one of the methods mentioned above, installing PC-Pine and configuring it to read and send email from the deskmail server is simply a matter of running the PC-Pine Installer program.

The PC-Pine installer assumes you are using the Uniform Access deskmail servers (i.e. the ones Homer and Dante connect to) rather than a departmental deskmail server. If you are currently using an email host other than Homer or Dante, see the "Installing PC-Pine on Hosts Other Than Homer or Dante" section for more information.

When you run the installer program, you will be presented with a license agreement. If you accept the terms of the license, click on "Yes." Then click on "Next" at the Welcome screen to start the installation process.

Next you will be asked to provide PC-Pine with your full name and email address. This information will be used in the configuration of the software, so make sure you enter the information carefully.

Click on the "Next" button when you are ready to continue.

The PC-Pine installer is set to install the program in the C:\Program Files\UWICK\PC-Pine directory. If you would like the program installed in that location, click "Next." If you would like to install PC-Pine in a different location, click on "Browse" and choose a new location.

When Setup is complete, click "OK."

If you obtained PC-Pine from the ftp site, it is set to install in the C:\Program Files\PC-Pine directory.
