STAFFDIR and STUDENTDIR

Staffdir and studentdir provide information about those staff and students (and departments) that have made their UW information in the form of telephone, email, and department affiliation available to other UW personnel.

Using the Software
On any of the above computers, at the system prompt type:

% staffdir [-fltdpamev] [+fltdpamev] [-full] [-NMDE] key

or

% studentdir [-fltdpe] [+fltdpe] [-full] [-NDE] key

where the above parameters are options (see below). In the simple case it is just the name of a person, such as:

% staffdir johndoe

However, this information is more accessible on the Web, at:

http://www.washington.edu/home/peopledir/

The Web page also has links that enable you to change your information or to control how/where the information is listed.

Documentation
A man page is also available for this utility. If you are using the Dante or Homer computer, start by pressing the S (shell: To enter Unix commands) key to get to the "%" system prompt. At the system prompt type:

% man staffdir

or

% man studentdir
