Software on UW Technology Computers

The UW Technology computers offer a variety of software products. You can use these computers and software for email, unix programming, statistical and mathematical analysis, etc. Your UW NetID gives you access to these computing services.

For information about available software products, see the software summaries. They include details about what the software is, how to use it, where to find documentation, and who can help with questions. You will find the software summaries presented by:

  • A-Z Software List - to look for software by product name
  • Computer List - to view what software is on a particular computer
  • Software Category List - for listings grouped by the kind of work you want to do

To request new software to be added to UW Technology computers, please submit your request to UW Technology Software Review Board. To see that what software has been requested and the status of the requests see previously requested software.

The University of Washington has established guidelines and policies for use of University computing resources. Improper use of these resources can get you into trouble. It is your responsibility to know the rules and to use computing and networking resources appropriately.
