Overview
The UW Groups service provides infrastructure for defining,
maintaining, and using "groups"—named objects with membership
lists and standard attributes known collectively as group "metadata".
Group membership lists might consist of people, computers, or other
kinds of principals. Groups might be created by a person or
department to serve a specific need; or they might be created by
institutional processes, such as UW course enrollments, to serve
more general needs.
