Request for the Creation of a Local UW Newsgroup

Use this form to request the creation of a local UW newsgroup that is NOT FOR A SPECIFIC COURSE. Be sure you have read Setting Up a UW Newsgroup before you begin.
When you complete and submit this form, it is sent electronically to C&C Information (C&CI). C&CI will notify you by email when your newsgroup is ready and may contact you if they have any questions about the information you submit.

Administrative Information

What is the purpose of this newsgroup?

All local newsgroups use the naming convention "uwash". You choose the remaining descriptive elements of the name. Be sure the name you choose describes your newsgroup and fits into any naming hierarchy already established. Examples:

  uwash.mba
  uwash.anthro
  uwash.atmos.discuss
  uwash.bothell.students
  uwash.nursing.student.undergrad

Message Expiration

Newsgroups which get continual use will not be deleted from the system unless you ask to have that done. If your newsgroup needs a different retention schedule,
