Request Form for a UW Course Newsgroup

Use the form on this page to request a newsgroup for a UW course. (If your newsgroup is NOT for a COURSE, use the other Request Form for Local UW Newsgroup.) Be sure you have read Setting Up a UW Newsgroup. When you complete and submit this form, it is sent electronically to C&C Information (C&CI) who will notify you by email when the newsgroup is ready, or if they have any questions about the information you submitted.

All newsgroups set up this way will fall under the "uwash.class" hierarchy. Their names will match the "COURSE" designator in the Time Schedule unless something different is needed. Some examples of names are:

Detailed Configuration

MESSAGE EXPIRATION -- For class newsgroups, messages will not expire during the quarter, so that the entire quarter's postings are available. The system administrator will delete all postings on the Wednesday of the week which follows the end of each quarter. If you need an alternative setting for expiration, please describe what is needed:
