Title: Is there a way to search for specific messages in WebPine?
Question:
I'm looking for all the messages sent by Suzy Fussbudget -- is
there a way to search for them?
Answer:
WebPine has powerful search tools that allow you to look for messages
based on criteria such as text, date, or status. E.g., you can search for
all messages that contain the string "Suzy", or messages dated after June
23, 2003, etc.
(a) There are two sets of powerful controls that may or may not be exposed
at the top of your list of messages. If they are not fully exposed
they appear as tiny rectangular icons near the left edge and just
above the message list and look somewhat like this: [> ]. Click on
these icons to expose them. The set of interest here looks like this:
Search and Mark Message Status Save Messages
[Search] [Show...] [Set] status to [...] [Save] to [...] or ...
(b) Click on the [Search] button to expose a window that lets you specify
your select criteria. In this window you can use one of the three
types of search methods: text, date, or status. Click the appropriate
search button to return to your folder. The messages found by your
search will be marked and displayed.
