Title: Why does SSH Secure FTP running on Windows XP fail to upload files?

Question:
I am using Windows XP and every time I try and upload a file, I get the
error, "Failed to scan directories. Error 6: ... No such file or
directory". How do I correct this problem?

Answer:
SSH Secure FTP has a known problem with a default setting in Windows XP.
When file extensions for known file types are hidden, uploads will fail.
Known file types include Microsoft Word documents (with the extension
.doc), and text files (with the extension .txt). There is a workaround for
this problem.

1. Click on Start -> My Computer
2. Select Tools menu -> Folder Options
3. Select the View tab
4. Uncheck the 'Hide file extensions for known file types' checkbox.
5. Click Apply
6. Click Ok

You can also copy and paste files into the SSH Secure FTP window or
drag and drop files into the SSH Secure FTP window if you do not wish to
use the above workaround.
