Title: Can Pine mark important messages?
Question:
Is there some way in Pine to mark messages for my own purposes? Pine
already marks messages as New and with a "+" if they are addressed to me.
Answer:
You can mark a message as "Important" so that you can easily find it
later. This is done via the "* Flag" command. Once a message is so
marked, the MESSAGE INDEX will show an "*" in the first column for those
messages. The Flag command must be explicitly enabled, and it can also be
used to set or reset other message status flags, e.g. "N"ew. (Look at
Pine's 'Help for the Message Index View'for more information about message
status.)
You enable the flag capability by using Pine's "S"etup "C"onfig option at
the Main Menu. Find this entry:
[ ] enable-flag-cmd
and use the "X" command to turn it on. After you "E"xit the setup
screen, you'll be able to use the "*" Flag command in folder indexes.
Note that if you also configure Pine to enable the
"aggregate-command-set," you'll be able to ";" Select and "Z"oom in on the
messages you've marked and to "A"pply other commands to those messages all
at once. Look at the help for "enable-aggregate-command-set" in the Setup
Configuration menu, or in help for the Folder Index, for more details
about this.
