Title: How do I filter spam messages from an entire domain using the EDM?

Question:
I want to filter all messages that come from anyone at a specific domain,
using a wildcard or something like *@domain.com. How do I create a filter to
do that?

Answer:
If your email is delivered to your UW or MyUW.net inbox you may use the
Email Delivery Manager (EDM) to filter messages by domain. Connect to the
EDM by following the link provided in the MyUW Email channel. Connect to
MyUW at

	https://myuw.washington.edu

On the MyFrontPage tab find the Email channel, then choose the "Message
Filtering" link. After the EDM page opens,

Click: "Custom" under the "Add Filters" heading.

Choose "Search From: header for string" as the part of the message to
examine then click "Continue"

Insert: "domain.com" (no quotes, where "domain.com" is the domain you wish
to filter) into the text box. For example, if you are trying to block all
messages from "joe" and anyone else at "public.com", you'd enter

	public.com

in the text box.

Click "Continue"

Select the action you prefer here (for example: "Delete" or "Save
to folder").

Click "Continue"

Here you can name your custom filter and click "Add Filter" to completed
the custom filter creation process. At the top of the EDM screen you
should see "Confirmed (the following changes are in effect):
New custom filter added to the beginning of filter list."

Note that filtering an entire domain may match a lot of messages and could
have some unexpected consequences over time. For example, a domain you
filter and delete now may later include an address you do want some
messages from. Be cautious. If you chose to save the messages to a folder
named "junk-mail" you will have a week to review them there before they are
automatically deleted.
