Question:
How do I dial out from a Uniform Access computer?
Answer:
From the Uniform Access computers you can use the command 'telnet
dialout.cac.washington.edu' to reach a pool of dialout modems which
support 300 through 56k bps connections. Long distance calls must be
made using UWATS numbers.
You may also need to know:
(1) Tone dial must be specified. eg. 'atdt'
(2) When placing a local or long distance call, a 'w' must be
included in the dialing string after the '9' or '7'.
