Title: When do UW NetID computing services expire?

Question:
When do UW NetID computing services (Dante, Homer, etc.) expire?

Answer:
A UW NetID is assigned to an individual forever. Some services such as UW
email forwarding and access to MyUW never go away. However, to maximize
performance and reclaim disk space, C&C periodically removes Uniform Access
computing services whose owners are no longer associated with the
University. Before your services expire, you should receive an email
detailing which are about to be removed.

The timing of expiration depends on an individual's affiliation to the
University:

A faculty or staff member's computing services expire and are removed after
he or she has "separated" status in the UW payroll for two consecutive pay
periods (approximately four weeks).

A student's computing services expire one quarter and ten days after he or
she stops taking courses at the UW. Summer quarter is included in this
count. UW graduates and former students are eligible for service through
MyUW.Net. For more information, visit:

Please call the program with which you are enrolled for information
regarding computing services obtained through Educational Outreach, UW
Extension, or Distance Learning.
