Nebula Support |
|
|
There are three types
of Nebula systems:
- Nebula Gold
Nebula Gold is a full-service, managed
desktop option that provides all software
and technical support.
- Nebula Bronze
Nebula Bronze is a lower cost managed
desktop option designed for departments
that have limited onsite technical support
staff, but are interested in having some of
the most critical desktop services managed
centrally.
- Husky Kiosks
Husky Kiosks are intended for public-area
computers whose primary function is to make
Internet, email and secure file transfer
services available to users.
The Nebula program provides central
administration for networked desktop
computers. Nebula computers are configured to
a standard suite of software which is tested,
maintained and supported by UW Technology engineers and technical
support staff. Nebula computers are networked
to hosts that provide file sharing, network
printing, centralized backups, e-mail, Web
publication, and other capabilities.
Nebula does not contract for single
systems, only for groups of systems.

basis.
The CMG services Apple, DEC, IBM, NCD,
NeXT, Zenith and certain other products, and
does warrenty and post-warrenty repairs for
some brands. Please contact the CMG for more

upgrades, most common applications (including
MS Office, the UWICK, etc) and software and
antivirus updates. They perform some software
configuration, troubleshooting, and virus
clean-up and recovery. Limited data recovery is
available. The CMG can also transfer data from
one hard drive or PC to another. The CMG works
with both Windows and Macintosh-based
systems. |

The Computer Maintenance Group transports,
installs and configures PC's. They will also
de-install and, if requested, erase the hard
drives to Surplus Property's specifications.
They can move single PC's or offices of PC's
from one location to another.
In addition, the CMG can manage the entire
surplus process: pick-up, hard drive erasure,
complete the 1024 form, and deliver equipment
to Surplus Property.
