R733: Introduction to Microsoft Access

Description:

In the first session, you identify database components and discuss and design a relational database management system. Topics covered include creating a table, naming and describing fields, and defining data types. You also work with records, view table datasheets, add, edit and save records, set primary keys, and print table records.

This course covers customizing the table with formats, default values, using validation rules, modifying the datasheet, changing column widths and row heights, moving columns, hiding and showing columns, and setting relationships between tables. Select queries also are covered by selecting tables and fields, and viewing dynasets with specific query criteria, expressions, sorted order, and excluded fields.

In the second session, you create, view, and modify forms. You also find data with specific values and wildcards, replace data, and create and apply filters. Report creation is covered by creating, viewing, and modifying reports with Wizard. Importing from external database tables and spreadsheet data into Access is discussed.
