ATL Quickstart: ScreenDoors II
ScreenDoors II is a Windows program designed to provide keyboard emulation for users with mobility limitations. This program offers an onscreen keyboard, word prediction, and spell checking. It can be used with a variety of pointing devices, from standard mice to head pointing systems.
Starting ScreenDoors II
- Click the Start Button on the Window taskbar at the bottom of the screen.
- Click on the AT Applications folder.
- Click on the ScreenDoors II icon.
(Pressing <ALT> + <CTRL> + <S> also starts the program.)
Using ScreenDoors II
When ScreenDoors II is started, three new windows will appear on your display: a Main Settings window, an Onscreen Keyboard, and a green word prediction bar. To start using ScreenDoors II, open the program you would like to use and start typing with either the standard keyboard or the virtual keyboard on screen. The green word prediction bar will provide completed words as you type. If the word you're typing appears, simply click on it or type the corresponding number that appears with it.
Quitting ScreenDoors II
Left click the "X" button in the left uppermost corner of the Main Settings window.
Help
To access the Help System, click "Help" in the Main Settings window. From this list, choose "Help Topics."
