Welcome to the Mary Gates Hall Adaptive Technology Lab! This page provides information on the adaptive technology available on this machine. Click on the links below to be connected to the Quick Start for each program. Each Quick Start provides a brief introduction to the program and a short guide to using its basic features. Please contact the ATL for a print copy or alternate format copy of any of these documents.
ATL Quick Starts
- JAWS for Windows
- Provides screen-reading capability for users with visual impairments.
- Kensington Trackball
- A mouse alternative.
- NaturalReader
- Provides text-to-speech capability from any program where text can be selected.
- ZoomText
- Screen enlargement software with basic speech output and text-reading features.
- ZoomText Keyboard
- A high-contrast keyboard which has ZoomText command buttons along the top. The command buttons allow various features to be controlled without having to stop what you are working on.
- ALVA Braille Display
- A refreshable Braille display.
