ATL Quickstart: IntelliTalk

IntelliTalk is a speech output word processor for Windows. By reading whatever you type IntelliTalk enables a user with visual impairments or learning disabilities to get auditory feedback on their text entry. This program will also read documents created with other word processing programs.

Starting IntelliTalk

 

  1. Click the Start Button on the Window taskbar at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Click on the AT Applications folder.
  3. Click on the IntelliTalk folder.
  4. Click on the IntelliTalk icon.
(You can also press <CTRL> + <ALT> + <T> to start the program)

Reading Text

To have IntelliTalk read the whole document, a selected paragraph, a sentence, or a specific word, click on the corresponding icons located on the toolbar.

Quitting IntelliTalk

From the File Menu, select Exit, or press the <ALT> + <F4> key combination

Help

To access the Help System, press <ALT> + <H> then press <I>. Doing this will display general directions. Left click on the topic you would like help with.
