FREE Ride in the Rain 2008 shirts
The following participants will receive a free Ride in the Rain 2008 shirt. (One free shirt per person, please)
- Team Captains
- Other riders who recruit at least 3 first-time Ride in the Rain participants. To receive their free shirt for recruitment, riders need to post the names and email addresses of their recruits with their first week's rides.
Captains can pick up their shirts in person at the Pedal Off event, February 28. Everyone eligible for a free shirt who does not pick it up on February 28 will have their shirt mailed to them.
Incentives for New Participants
New Ride in the Rain participants who post a ride during the first week of the Challenge will receive a bonus gift.
- New riders who have a U-Pass will be sent a $5 Commuter Bonus Plus Voucher (A special script issued by Metro King County for commuters who choose alternatives to driving alone, Bonus Plus Vouchers are good at REI and Zipcar as well as Brown Bear Car Wash, 76, and AAA.
- New riders who do not have a U-Pass will receive 2 ride free tickets for the bus--to give them that little bit of extra confidence.
Awards
Every Ride in the Rain participant who makes 20 oneway commute trips between home and campus for work or school during the challenge will be invited to a celebration luncheon, award ceremony and merchandise fair in April. Awards will be given to the top teams and individuals in the following categories:

*Note: these are people who have not commuted by bicycle before.
Based on average scores:
- Most Commute Trips
- Most Commute Trips Riding in the Rain
- Most Commute Miles
The team with the highest average commute trips made in the rain will take home the Soaked to the Gills traveling trophy! The trophy currently resides with the 2007 winning team, Pansy Riders .
