Who were those people gathered around Drumheller Fountain? What were they up to? And what was it with the stars, the blue whistles and backsacks? You spotted participants in the Walk of the Week—just one part of the third annual Walk In Challenge. At least a dozen, sometimes more than two dozen walkers made their way to the fountain at noon each Monday in May and June and again during September and October.

The Spring and  Fall Walk In Challenges combined encouraged more than 400 participants to walk to work, walk at lunch and walk to meetings. Walkers counted their walks, their points and their commute miles for prizes awarded at celebration luncheons.
