Vanpools
The U-PASS-subsidized vanpool
program has been met with great enthusiasm and continues to gain additional
participants. In October 1999, 266 U-PASS holders in a total of 31 vans
were participating in the program. Prior to the U-PASS, only eight vanpools
were in operation, with a total of 79 participants. The U-PASS is worth
$40 of the monthly vanpool fare, which is determined by distance traveled,
number of riders and the size of the van. Vans are owned, maintained and
insured by Metro or Community Transit. |
