Ridematch
Sharing the ride is a powerful way to reduce traffic. To facilitate
carpooling and vanpooling, the University participates in the Regional
Ridematch System, which helps match drivers and riders throughout several
counties. Updated during 1999, the system now allows more flexibility
in matching those with varying schedules. This feature is particularly
helpful to the many students, faculty and staff members who do not work
the same schedule each day. The Transportation Office mails ridematch
applications several times a year in newsletters, flyers and brochures,
and an online application is also available. When the application is returned
to the Transportation Office, the information is entered into the Regional
Ridematch System and a match list is sent to the applicant. This list now
includes maps and other features to help potential ridesharers connect. |
