Reimbursed Ride Home
Faculty and staff who experience an emergency and whose usual transportation
is unavailable when they must leave campus can call a taxi cab and be reimbursed
for 90 percent of the fare up to 50 miles per quarter. In 1997-98,
an average of seven faculty and staff used the program each month.
The average number of participants has declined over the years, but average
trip length has risen slightly and average fare paid has seen a 44 percent
increase. The number of passengers represent just 0.1 percent of
the faculty/staff U-PASS holders.
