The University offers two ridematch services for UW commuters interested in sharing the ride. UW students, faculty and staff are mailed ridematch applications several times a year. When the application is returned to the Transportation Office, the information is entered into the Regional Ridematch System and a match list is sent to the applicant. Over 5,600 ridematch applications have been sent to the Transportation Office since the U-PASS began.

Another option for persons interested in sharing the ride is Seattle Smart Traveler, an on-line instantaneous ridematch system designed to find rideshare partners for those people who need greater ridematching flexibility. Seattle Smart Traveler is a research program that was introduced spring quarter 1996. It is available exclusively to UW students, faculty and staff. A total of 165 people have participated in this service.
